Safe Buying & Selling
Buy & Sell With Confidence
Salvage Jungle is an advertising platform only. We do not take or hold payment for vehicles and we do not become involved in transactions between buyers and sellers.
Vehicle purchases, payments, collection and paperwork are arranged directly between the buyer and seller.
Always inspect. Always verify. Always confirm cleared funds.
FOR SELLERS
Wait for Cleared Funds
Never release the vehicle, keys or documents until payment is showing as cleared and available in your own bank account.
Verify Payment Yourself
Never rely on screenshots, payment confirmations or a buyer saying the money has been sent. Check your own bank account.
Be Cautious With Payments
For direct bank payments, verify that funds have actually cleared before releasing the vehicle. Be particularly cautious with cheques, banker’s drafts or promises of later payment.
Meet Safely
Where practical, arrange viewings during daylight and consider having another person present.
Provide a Receipt
Once the transaction is complete, both parties should keep a written record of the sale.
Notify DVLA
Complete the appropriate DVLA notification promptly when the vehicle changes keeper.
FOR BUYERS
View Before You Buy
Wherever possible, inspect the vehicle before paying. Check its condition, damage, mileage and documentation against the listing.
Understand the Salvage Category
Cat S indicates structural damage. Cat N indicates non-structural damage and is not necessarily limited to cosmetic damage.
Check Vehicle & Documents
Verify the vehicle’s identity, V5C details where available, MOT information and relevant vehicle history before purchase.
Pay the Seller Directly
Salvage Jungle does not collect the purchase price. Make payment only when you are satisfied with the seller, vehicle and transaction details.
Keep a Receipt
Both parties should retain a written record showing the vehicle and transaction details.
